Max Ginsburg Retrospective

ARC Living Master™Max Ginsburg is a New York Artist whose paintings are extremely realistic in form and content.

His paintings explore the range of daily human life, concerned as much with life's ironies and injustices, as with its many joys. Issues of war and peace, racism and social justice have been a major focus in his art.

A painter with a conscience, Ginsburg offers us a personal,"insiders" view of his city. He identifies with the people he paints. The streets, the subways and the buses are used as vehicles through which he expresses his feelings about the human condition. Ginsburg is a humanist not a sentimentalist. His friend Irwin Greenberg said, "Glamour is anathema to him." For Ginsburg, in the words of John Keats, "Truth is beauty."

Measuring 12" x 11", at 192 pages, the book includes 150 of his paintings dating from 1956 to the present, his personal history, and essays by important figures in art.
