William Bouguereau Catalog Raisonne

William Bouguereau Catalog RaisonneThe Catalog Raisonne which is due to be jointly published by the Art Renewal Center® and the Antique Collectors Club, includes information on all of William Bouguereau's 828 known paintings, as well as the entire 600 page biography written by Damien Bartoli, with Fred Ross, ARC Chairman and President of the Bouguereau Committee.

Due to additional funding we were able to dramatically upgrade the publication which will now include the following:

  • Rather then the originally anticipated 250-300 images in volume one, there will now be over 340 color images in volume I of Bouguereau paintings alone, Over 100 of which will be full page plates, twice as many as we were projecting.
  • Additionally, in Volume I there will be another 170 images in black and white, most of which are biographical, including photographs of Bouguereau in his studio, family members, Bouguereau with his students, letters, drawings, etc.
  • Volume II will now also be printed in Color, rather then black and white, and will include over 760 images in color or black & white depending on the best image available to us for each given work.
  • This is a two volume boxed set
  • First printing will only be 2,000 or 2,500 and they are going fast.
Please note: The "Nymphes et Satyre" pictured here is by William Bouguereau-
the book cover has not yet been designed.

Catalog Raisonne Update: The Committee to write the Catalogue Raisonne on William Bouguereau, finished its work in July and all content is now in the hands of our co publisher, the Antique Collector's Club. They are known for producing exceptionally high quality art books and will be doing the actual layout and publication with the committee's cooperation. With the upgrades to the books, including the second volume being printed in color and additional images, no effort has been spared for this first edition.

The contents are now in the publisher's hands. The Antique Collector's Club will be giving us the release date as soon as possible. The announcement will be forthcoming.

This Herculean effort spanning 30 years was undertaken by a determined team of 19th Century Art experts, set to fill the void of information on Bouguereau, one of history’s greatest masters.
